W pałacu młodzieży ()

Overview:
A documentary showcasing the Palace of Youth in Katowice, a monumental complex opened in late 1951, featuring scientific, artistic and sports facilities. Through the eyes of a miner's children, the film explores its workshops, laboratories, swimming pool, gymnasium and dance classes. Made in the style of socialist realism, it contrasts the isolation of rural life with the modernity of the city and the communal spirit of young people learning and training together. Directed by Joanna Kozicka, with a screenplay co-written by Wilhelmina Skulska and narration by Andrzej Łapicki.
